Deciding what to Watch on TV
Mark has invited his friend, Jake, to come to his house after school. They are trying to decide
what to watch on TV…
Mark: What do you fancy doing when you come over later, Mark? Do you want to watch a
film or a series maybe?
Jake: I don't mind… Is there anything good on TV at the minute?
Mark: I’ve been watching Game of Thrones – it’s amazing! It’s a fantasy series. Although, if
you haven’t watched it, you’ll need to start at the beginning to understand what’s going on…
Jake: I saw that, but it doesn’t really appeal to me. I prefer watching documentaries –
especially true crime documentaries. Do you like them?
Mark: Yes, I do… but I’m not really in the mood to watch a documentary today. I’d rather
watch something funny and light-hearted. What about a comedy?
Jake: Yeh, that’s fine by me – I could do with a laugh! What about the new one out, ‘The
Hangover Part II’? I’ve heard it’s hilarious! Have you watched the first one?
Mark: Yes - it was brilliant! Let’s watch the new one. I’m going to order pizza and stop by
the shop on the way home to pick up some crisps and popcorn for us. Although I can’t decide
which pizza to get… Neapolitan or Sicilian?
Jake: I'll make the call – let’s go for a Sicilian with garlic sauce.
Mark: Sounds good! I’ll see you at 4!
