Jack has just bought a new smartphone online. He is talking to his Grandad who wants to

learn more about online shopping…

Jack: Hi Grandad! How are you? Look at the new smartphone I’ve just bought!

Grandad: It looks good, Jack! Where did you buy it?

Jack: I bought it from an online shop.

Grandad: Was it expensive?

Jack: Mm... it was quite expensive, but it’ll be worth it. This online shop had a great deal and

Grandad: That’s great! I’ve never bought anything online before… Is it difficult to do? Will

you show me how to do it?

Jack: Grandad, it’s a piece of cake! All you have to do is go to the website and choose the

item or items you want to have a look at. You can add them to your basket, then go to the

checkout and enter your card details to pay for them when you’re ready. It usually only takes

a few days for your items to arrive in the post. It’s as simple as that!

Grandad: You know, everyone says old people are too slow to use computers but if you

could give me a hand, I could buy all sorts of things and maybe even some presents for you

too!
