Travelling in the Future

Nick and Patrick are making predictions about how people will travel in the future…

Nick: Hi Patrick! What are you doing?

Patrick: Hi Nick! Oh, nothing much, just watching a video on YouTube about what cars might be like in the future - they look amazing!

Nick: Talking about the future, have you ever thought about the different ways people will travel in the future?

Patrick: Yes, I have actually…In the future, I think we might be able to travel in powerful rockets, spaceships, and airplanes too.

Nick: Potentially, we already have all of them. Wouldn’t it be marvellous to travel to other planets?

Patrick: Yes, it would be amazing to visit and explore all the other planets in the Universe!

Nick: But scientists and engineers haven’t invented rockets that could carry people for such long distances yet.

Patrick: As a matter of fact, NASA is currently working on developing a very powerful rocket, but I don’t think people will be able to travel further than the Moon in the near future.

Nick: We could talk about this for hours! But I really need to go to class now…

Patrick: My mum is making a pizza tonight. Do you want to come over and we could continue our conversation then? We could watch a sci-film too.

Nick: Sounds great! I’ll see you later!
